This interactive session will include:

  • A live storytelling of Free to Be Me
  • A behind-the-scenes talk with the author about how a picture book is created – from first idea to finished page
    Insight into illustration, writing and collaboration.
  • A creative badge-making activity, where children can choose a character they connect with and design a badge celebrating courage, kindness, friendship or simply being themselves

This event is designed to be warm, inclusive and welcoming for all families, with particular encouragement for children and parents who are disabled, neurodivergent, exploring gender identity, or part of the LGBTQ+ community. Everyone is welcome here.
