In his latest book, Football and How to Survive It, former Scottish footballer and author of The Accidental Footballer, Pat Nevin, recounts his turbulent tenure as both player and Chief Executive of Scottish First Division side Motherwell in a rollicking, eye-opening and moving account of running a professional football club. We’re thrilled to welcome Pat to Paisley in conversation with BBC broadcaster and football commentator Paul Mitchell to share some of the highs and lows of a career which reveal a different and perhaps unexpected side to the game we know and love.
Part of our The Beautiful Game series, in which we invite authors to reflect on their experiences as players, managers and fans of the nation’s favourite sport.
