Join poet and writer R S Kendle for a creative writing workshop reclaiming and re-imagining the stories of two figures from mythology, Mélusine (whose monstrous features allow her agency within a patriarchal society) and the Morrígan (a multi-faceted goddess of sovereignty and war within Irish mythology). We will look at how these figures have been historically portrayed before considering how we can re-imagine and re-contextualise their stories using a range of exercises and prompts to create original work.
There will be an emphasis placed on poetry, however, prose is also welcome. Materials can be shared in advance of the workshop for those who wish to read ahead of time, including large-print copies and voice recordings.
