Join us as we celebrate the Janet Coats Memorial Prize 2025, an annual poetry award given in remembrance of Janet Coats, who originated from the local J&P Coats thread making family and was later involved in the establishment of the James Tait Black Prize in honour of her late husband. Janet was also a talented poet, as well as a great philanthropist in education, health and welfare.
In this event, we will hear each of the short-listed poems selected by a panel including the Tannahill Makar – Shaun Moore, author and poet – Amy B. Moreno, and a third judge still to be confirmed. They will then announce the winners of both the adult and young person prizes for 2025.
